Lagos Life in short
- What is it?
- A Sims-style Lagos lifestyle game: you make a character, work jobs, pay rent and meet other real players in a shared city with places like Amala Shitta and Quilox (official site, Techpoint Africa).
- Where do I play it free?
- At lagoslife.app, in your browser. The official site also opens it at lagoslife.eliysites.com. Tap Sign up free; signing up costs nothing (official site).
- Do I need to download it?
- No. There is no app-store app; it runs in the browser on a phone or a computer (BusinessDay, Technext). Apps that claim to be Lagos Life in an app store are not from the developer. Put it on your home screen instead.
- Does it work on my phone?
- On iPhone and iPad it needs iOS 16.4 or newer; on Android, an up-to-date browser such as Chrome. The check above tells you in a second.
- Who made it?
- Shalom Rayhamen (@Shalom_HeyEliy on X), as credited on the official stats page. It launched on 1 October 2026 (Techpoint Africa).
- Is it really free?
- Playing is free. You can top up your in-game wallet with real money, but game naira can never be cashed out or sold (official terms). Players must be 18 or older.
What Lagos Life needs
The official site tells iPhone owners the game “needs iOS 16.4 or newer” and that “every browser on iPhone uses the same engine, so another browser won’t help”. Elsewhere it asks players with a browser that is too old to update it. The versions below are the first ones with the JavaScript feature the official site tests for (MDN).
Opera Mini’s data-saving mode does not run modern scripts at all (Can I use), so use Chrome or the full Opera browser. You also need cookies on: the game uses one to keep you signed in (official privacy policy). If the game is slow to load, the official site offers a Start fresh button; your game is saved on its servers.
